Vote for Swimming Lizard
Through a Barefoot Books partnership with Eco-Libris, I plant a tree for every book, and for every 10 notecards, sold by Swimming Lizard.  This applies to every purchase:  online orders, in person, or phone/email orders.

And now you can support the Eco-Libris program directly by ordering book stickers for all the books you and your family read, at a discounted rate only available through Swimming Lizard.  The stickers and mailing materials are made from recycled paper.

These book stickers make a meaningful gift for any bibliophile -- send them inside one of my beautiful notecards!

You can also choose not to receive stickers, and your entire payment will go toward planting more trees, rather than printing and mailing costs.

Eco-Libris works with its planting partners to plant your trees in developing countries.
From the Eco-Libris site:  "Our planting partners are organizations that work in developing countries. Their planting and conservation activities are an integral part of their efforts to help local communities in these countries move towards a sustainable future. We make sure that your trees will be planted where they provide significant value for both the environment and the local communities, who are very much involved and play an important part in the planting projects."

"Eco-Libris wants you to receive the best value for what you pay to balance out your books.

Firstly, since not all trees survive during their growth, we plant 1.3 trees for every tree you pay for - for example, 13 trees will be planted when you pay for 10 trees. In this way we significantly increase the chance that at least 10 trees will actually mature and live happily ever after.

Secondly, our planting partners not only plant the trees, but also manage and monitor the planting areas afterwards. In most cases they employ local workers who work with the local communities and are also responsible for following-up, monitoring and evaluating the planting sites."
